This Week's Menu

The "This Week's Menu" post is finally back (thank you to those of you who have been kind enough to email me saying that you missed my poor, neglected blog). I will do my level best to upload recipes in the weeks to come not just photos as I have done most recently. I have a bit more spare time right now to breathe and cook (and document).
L. has really enjoyed this year's slightly frazzled and work-preoccupied me. He has truly thrived with more independence, a reduction in my hawk-eyed supervision and - unfortunately - with access to more takeout food. I have missed the mindfulness of properly planned weekly menus and have certainly had to simplify my cooking style in the name of work/life balance and for the sake of getting dinner on the table at a reasonable hour. We have moved from the habitual appetizer, main course with two veg format to, very often, one-pot, one dish kitchen sink dinners. I am working on finding a happy medium between the two; one that will satisfy my need for order and planning in the kitchen and my schedule which now ressembles most people's.
Despite my actual lack of time to partake in the following joys, I remain passionate about farmer's markets, CSA boxes, good food, family unity through lovingly prepared dinners and how cathartic cooking and writing about cooking can be. It's my yoga.
Sunday [Proper Family Meal]
Turmeric and Ginger Cracked Wheat Pilaf with Courgettes
Monday [New Recipe]
I will be out and L. can now fend for himself on those occasions. The world has been turned on its head...
Tuesday [Pasta]
Green Salad
Wednesday ["Ethnic" Food]
Tomato-Coconut Shrimp Ball and Multi-Vegetable Curry
Wholewheat Na'an
Thursday [Soup and Homemade Bread]
Minty Peas and Bacon on Toast
Friday [Vegetarian]
Mushroom and Couscous Veggie Burgers
Roasted Beet Salad with Cumin and Herbs
Saturday ["Picnic" Dinner]
Buffalo Duck Drumettes
Kitchen Sink Salad
Crushed Mini Potatoes with Parmesan
