Homemade Burger Buns

I have made burger buns on many occasions in the past from this recipe, as well as this one. Last night I used the first one but, upon rereading, made a few changes to the recipe:
- I omitted the sugar because I didn't see what purpose it served.
- I brushed an egg wash over the top of each bun and sprinkled on a little finishing salt before baking.
Last but not least, allow the buns to cool before splitting them in order to toast them prior to pilling on goodies. I didn't and the cut ends were not as neat as I wanted them to be, though the burgers and fixings were still delicious.
