Rigati Pasta with Octopus Ragu



I made this as a birthday dinner main course for a friend of mine who thanked me by mocking my blog design, backed by staunch ally, L.. I have taken some of their constructive criticism on board, hence a few design changes, and will definitely make this dish again but, next time, will leave the pieces of octopus much larger. The only change that I really made to the inspiration recipe below was to add some chopped capers at the last minute, which I think worked, and to quickly grill the tentacles under the broiler before serving for texture and presentation sake.
